What can I use to disinfect the unit? ¡í |
The units will accept most standard domestic disinfectants (bleach, domestos type products etc). Try to avoid foaming varieties which may be agitated by the pump action. Saniflo's specially formulated Descaler works with all Saniflo pumps. It will clean and disinfect your unit and prolong its life. |

What happens if the unit pushes the cistern away from the wall? ¡í |
Saniflo, Sanitop and Sanibest units need l90mm; Sanipro needs 210mm, Saniplus 200mm and Sanislim 145mm between the pan spigot and the wall. Where the cistern is narrower than this, it may be necessary to batten the cistern off the wall. |

Can waste be discharged into surface water drains? ¡í |
A Saniflo is normally discharged into a soil and vent pipe or discharge stack. However, it is possible to connect directly into the sewer at invert level. The discharge pipe should discharge into the gulley in the direction of flow. Entry can be through the wall of the manhole. which should be sealed to ensure a watertight joint. Pipes should be suitable for use under ground and protected against frost and also against subsidance from the effect of vehicles passing above. Full details are available on Saniflo BBA certificate 87/1889 detail sheet 9. |

Siphoning ¡í |
Where the point of discharge into the soil stack is significantly lower than the base of the unit, an anti-syphon valve will need to be fitted at the highest point in the piperun in order to avoid syphonage of the water seal in the unit. Alternatively use larger bore pipework for the vertical drop to "break" the syphon. |

plastic and copper ¡í |
All discharge pipework should be either copper or rigid solvent weld plastic. Flexible pipes (e.g. those normally using metal grab ring joints) can be used. However, this pipework is ony suitable if used without joints since these tend to narrow the bore of the pipe, and also it should be supported every 1/2 metre to avoid dipping in the piperun. |

can a saniflo be positioned under the floor ¡í |
We would not recommend siting a Saniflo unit under the floor, mainly because in the event that the unit is not operating (e.g. power cut) any leak would not be visible. The risk of flooding is therefore increased. |
Vertical discharge ¡í |
All vertical lifts should rise as directly above the unit as possible. Any initial horizontal run from the unit prior to a vertical lift should not exceed 30cm. Only 1 lift is permitted, at the start of the run, with a 1 in 100 fall from the high point. |
